Aptitude Wines is the brainchild of Greg Clack with his love of the Adelaide Hills and the diverse landscape and varieties it is home to.

Greg is dedicated to crafting site-specific wines that express both the individuality of place and the personality of variety.

Founded on the principle of precision and restraint, Aptitude places a strong emphasis on terroir-driven winemaking, sourcing fruit from select vineyard sites across the cool-climate subregions of the Hills.

With a focus on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Nebbiolo and other Burgundian and Italian varieties, the philosophy is built on respect for classic European traditions, adapted thoughtfully to Australian conditions.

Aptitude approaches these varieties with a modern Australian sensibility - minimal intervention, thoughtful extraction, and a focus on texture, energy and longevity. Native ferments, whole bunch, extended maceration and restrained oak handling are key to the style.

Aptitude champions a philosophy where place, variety and vintage are allowed to speak clearly resulting in wines of clarity, complexity and poise.
